Big Sable Point

Built on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in 1867, the light identified the most direct route to and from the Port of Chicago.  By 1900, deterioration required a steel sleeve be constructed around the original structure and filled with concrete.  In 1989, the black day mark was added.  Issued 1992.  11"H.  Lights via cord and night light bulb, included.
